Marco Hildebrandt, Great programUpdate 2019, still the best note app but there is a catch, once you go over the free storage limit of 5Gb you have to pay for an Office subscription and for a storage only account you can only buy an extra 100Gb. There IS NO option to store your data locally. Otherwise a great program for keeping all of your important electronic and scanned paper documents, recipes and pictures, hand scetches etc and synchronize with other handheld devices. My only issue is that it get out of sync sometimes, not often but when it does it is a mess. Having said that it is the best program besides notability for mac OS and iPad and notability has similar lapses in memory at times when it comes to syncing. Personally I find Notability better for taking handwritten notes in meetings but all of your information is synchronised between devices where Onenote you can select which information you want to sync to your mobile device which is a fantastic feature as most mobile devices do not have unlimited memory.

So I use both with Onenote the main archive repository. Works for me.

I say it is great as Onenote and Notebility from 4 years of using these programs are the best on the market at this time. GraceYouuu, Overheating problemSince months ago, everytime when i started using onenote on my MacBook Pro, the fan would run full speed and the laptop got really hot. The power was consumed ridiculously fast even when i used it offline without syncing anything or using any other softwares. The only solution was to close onenote and everything went back to normal immediately.I gotta say, it is a fantastic software and probably the best for uni students to take notes or any other occasions. BUT, having so many apple users currently, you people from Microsoft really should try to solve this problem. I found heaps of people on the microsoft community posting the same issue from a year ago and this still hasnt been solved!! I have already tried updating my OS system and onenote and everything is still the same so it surely has something to do with the software itself.

I really hope you can pay attention to this problem as it affects so many people and will finally make microsoft lose many users. Whowherehowi, Shopping Lists are only the beginning.I have tried to find something that works better for a shopping list that bothmy wife and I can update but keep coming back to OneNote, having moved it from Apple’s Note which is not so good IMHO.

I think that there are a few things that Microsoft could do better but it is FREE and I suppose that if they added more features why would people need Word, Excel, etc which can also be cloud-based and shared across users via OneDrive. A small niggle of mine is how they have changed the weight of the tick in the tick-box so it is less visible and this can’t be changed AFAIK.For the moment this is the way we do our shopping lists and it works fine. Better than, say, Wunderlist (also owned by Microsoft now) which I also use and is great, but not for big lists that I need to amend and edit and re-use.
